10-08-21 Thanksgiving Friday!

Rev. Ray Borg from Financial Discipleship Canada and notmine.ca joins Dave and Reb on "Let's Talk Money" this morning to reflect on thanksgiving, worship, and our understanding of God. This discussion also looks at how our ideas about God influence how we talk to God about money. As James Bryan Smith says in his book The Good and Beautiful Life, "what we think determines how we live. If we think God is an angry accountant frowning on us and would love us if only we are good enough, that narrative will be seen in how we live" (found on page 11). Together, Dave, Reb, and Rev. Borg discuss this understanding of God, and how that can influence our worship of Him. On this Thanksgiving weekend, they encourage listeners to take some time to reflect on who God is, and to thank Him for what He means in our lives! Today's show is sponsored by More Than Enough Financial - a financial coaching, tax, and mortgage company helping people find hope and freedom in their finances one day at a time.

10-01-21 Talking about Talking About Money

After recently hosting a seminar talking about money and communication, Dave and Reb thought it would also be a timely discussion for listeners of their "Let's Talk Money" podcast. When talking to your spouse, kids, or friends about money, Dave and Reb remind us to walk in love, be wrapped in love, and remember to honour others more than we honour ourselves. Knowing that money and communicating are not easy subjects to tackle, Dave and Reb encourage God's people to press in and wrestle through the hard conversations. Tune in to listen to their discussion. If you want to learn more about how to have healthy money conversations, contact Dave and Reb at morethanenough.ca. 09-10-21 Banking on the Future

Dave and Reb welcome Rev. Ray Borg from Financial Discipleship Canada to their discussion today about "Banking on the Future". As Canadians navigate the global pandemic, we continue to borrow from tomorrow, to spend money we don't have today. Some people count on future inheritance, wage increases, or expected bonuses, and spend them before actually seeing the money in their bank accounts. This can cause trouble if the money doesn't actually come the way we thought. Listen to their thoughts and ideas, as they navigate the spiritual and practical connotations of banking on tomorrow. Today's show is sponsored by Financial Discipleship Canada and notmine.ca: a place to find resources and conversation about serving and loving God with our finances.
